Breizh Pan Crepes, the best French crepes in Charleston

Being far from my country is sometimes really hard – even after 8 years abroad – so in that case I need something to cheer me up stronger than a glass of Bordeaux wine:

BREIZH PAN CREPES is truly one of my favorite places for many reasons. First, because of its owners. Patrice and Céline are the soûl of this tiny restaurant. They are so french and so Brittany-ish.

Celine is calm and sweet with a kind smile. She is also super organized and keep the place in order. “An iron fist in a velvet glove” as we say in French.

Patrice is very talkative and very funny. His energy and humour are contagious ! But he also has a strong personality. Don’t you dare criticizing the way the crepes are made. “This is the true crepe and there is only one way to make it. If you don’t like it you can eat somewhere else”.

Nonetheless, you won’t need to eat somewhere else because this is the best place in town for crêpes.

Whether you like sweet or savory, there is a lot of choices for all tastes and preferences. My favorite is the traditional COMPLETE (with fresh eggs, ham, melting Swiss cheese and Salad topped with homemade vinaigrette) pictured below:

I also really like their sweet crepe LE PHARE, made with strawberries, homemade chocolate and chantilly. This is the type of dessert that keeps me happy all afternoon! (pictured below)

If you want to enjoy a delicious lunch at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go. But make sure you go early enough because it gets packed everyday at lunch time.

And if you are adventurous, you can also purchase some french products (cookies, pâtés…) directly at the counter. I recently got some Mousseline puree for my son but I ended up eating most of it as it was just too good. #babmom
